ABOUT KISSAKI-KAI KARATE-DO

Kissaki-Kai Karate-do is the genesis of a modern martial art: Rich in history, yet innovative and adapted for the needs of all students in today's world.

The techniques, concepts and principles taught in our programs are based upon original self-defense skills, omitted from sports-based karate, which are reflected in the name and emblem of our dojo and association:
The sword was considered to be the 'Soul' of the Samurai, and the blade itself a venerated object of both beauty and deadly efficiency. The Kissaki is the term for the deadly sharp cutting edge of the very tip. The use of this term as a name for the karate is representative of those qualities which distinguish such a blade.

The vast majority of modern karate schools do not teach effective self-defense, only a weakened sports form. In Kissaki-kai we teach the sports form for fun and fitness, but we also teach an age-appropriate, real self-defense system.

Karate training in Southern New Jersey

Our Karate school has been running in Marlton and Cherry Hill, Southern New Jersey for over 25 years! Martial arts training in our school in Cherry Hill started off as a Shotokan Karate club, until in 2001 we joined the

Kissaki-Kai Karate-Do association. A few years later our karate school became the world honbu dojo for Kissaki-Kai.

Just over four years ago karate training moved into a brand new, customized building along Route 70 between Marlton and Cherry Hill. The building offers a fully matted training area, large locker rooms, a steam room and a massage room, common seating area, as well as a kids' play room.

We also offer Japanese Kobudo Weapons Training and Ju jitsu as well as realistic and effective Karate training in Marlton.

INSTRUCTORS

The staff of Kissaki-Kai Karate-do USA is comprised of world class and very experienced and talented individuals with a passion for martial arts study and instruction. Each staff member has been certified via world class instructor training programs and continuing education courses. Instruction methods include goal setting, achievement reward, and positve reinforcement. The classes are disciplined, structured, exhilarating, and motivational.
